We begin our journey through the Gospel of Mark. Pastor Scott provides a brief overview of the author and some key passages in the entire Gospel before going through the first 8 verses. In Mark 1:1-8, we see John the Baptist point to the coming of King Jesus.

In today’s passage, Paul describes what is going on in the world today as “pains of childbirth.” We are going to see how one couple’s decision has caused the world, and people, to be groaning because things are not as they should. However, there is coming a time when the pain will stop, peace will return, and life will be perfect.
Who are you? Where do you get your identity? This is one of the most important questions we can answer. Why? Because it drives every decision we make, our vocation, relationships, marriages, how we treat our kids, our purpose in life, and our responses to every circumstance or situation we find ourselves in. Today’s passage helps us answer it in a biblical and God-honoring way.
On Resurrection Sunday, we look at Jesus' triumph over sin at the cross, over death at the empty tomb, and over doubts in the upper room. Ultimately, Jesus' triumph's result in forgiveness, life, faith, and worship.
