We are taking a quick sprint through the grand story of the Bible. The first week, we looked at creation (perfection) and the fall (sin and death entered the world, infected all of humanity). Last week, we looked at the Jews (calling of Abraham and his family) and the Law (10 Commandments, sacrificial system, covenants with God). We also flew through the Judges, Kings, and Prophets.
All of history is moving to the point where God’s plan of salvation and redemption for the universe will be complete, when, as the last book in the Bible says, “‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” (Revelation 21:3-4)
Today, we turn our attention to the NT. Remember the promise from Genesis 3:15 – “And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.”
